“Training camp” is an annual event for children and young people which is held at Hove, just outside Arendal, by Agder Idrettskrets. It is one of Norway’s largest all-sports camps and had almost 860 participants in 2019. Unfortunately, Covid-19 put an end to this year’s event, but last year was a success. And we at O.B. Wiik contributed in our own way.

In 2019, mental health among children and young people was added to the program. Especially with a focus on how the Sports Camp can be used preventively. A very important topic that deserves attention. As part of the social program, after the sports activities, a “Beach party” was arranged in the evening. There was a high presence of professional actors working within a low-threshold offer aimed at the target group.

Here, O.B. Wiik made two large tents available, and an attractive “chillout” area was created where the kids could get to know the actors and the services they offer in an informal way. That way, they know about the advice available on the day they need help. The tents were filled with a sofas and decorations to create a good atmosphere, while at the same time protecting the participants from the weather.

Thank you to Agder Idrettskrets for a fantastic event, and for drawing attention to a good and important cause that we at O.B. Wiik are proud to support.
